On the A3 motorway, on the Popova\u010da\u2013Kutina section, the first gantry fully equipped for the new Crolibertas toll collection system has been installed. The gantry is modular and made up of three segments, but it was erected as a single piece, with a total length of 33 metres and a weight of 10 tonnes. Due to its size, installing the structure was extremely challenging. At the beginning of the week, cameras and antennas were mounted on the gantry.<\/p>\n
We would like to remind readers that work on installing the first seven gantries on the A3 motorway, between Popova\u010da and Novska, began in early November. This week, work will also begin on installing gantries on the A4 Zagreb\u2013Gori\u010dan motorway.<\/p>\n
This is a technically and infrastructure-intensive project which, in addition to the installation of a total of 212 gantries along the motorway network, also includes the deployment of advanced IT equipment, the execution of construction works under live traffic conditions, and the establishment of systems in back-office data processing centres. In parallel with the installation of gantries and equipment (cameras, antennas), testing will be carried out to ensure the functionality of each individual segment. Once the implementation of all gantries and associated equipment has been completed, comprehensive system-wide testing across the entire network will follow.<\/p>\n
Although the question is often raised in public that tolls will no longer be payable in cash, we would like to emphasize that this is not true. Tolls will still be payable in cash, but not in the same way as before, as there will no longer be an option for users to pay the toll directly to a cashier at the motorway exit.
