As part of preparations for the introduction of a new electronic toll collection system, works on installing toll collection gantries are actively progressing on several sections of Croatian motorways. The gantries represent a key infrastructure component of the new system. They are equipped with advanced technology for automatic vehicle detection and identification — including cameras, sensors, and communication modules — enabling seamless toll collection without stopping vehicles and contributing to improved traffic flow.
Works are currently being carried out on the following sections:
- Motorway A3 – Sisak-Moslavina County area
- Motorway A4 – Međimurje County area
- Motorway A11 – Zagreb County area
Upon completion of these works, gantry installation will continue on:
- Motorway A4 – Zagreb and Varaždin Counties
- Motorway A3 – Vukovar-Srijem County
- Motorway A5 – Brod-Posavina and Osijek-Baranja Counties
During this year, completion of all works on 212 gantries and the associated equipment forming an integral part of the new system is planned. On each motorway section, one gantry will be installed on the main carriageway and one in the area of the existing toll plaza.
